In February 2013, I experienced the distinct joy of playing amongst the big trees in Sequoia & Kings Canyon National Parks. Being in the presence of the majestic and ancient sequoias is a unique thrill… and nothing short of a religious experience.
Notice the burn marks.
So enormous that it is impossible to fully comprehend their scale even in person.
Everything is huge here, including the pine cones!
This hungry little rascal walked right up to me in the dark and scared me to death!
This photo does no justice to the General Grant, 267 feet tall!
Too big to hug, so I let the tree hug me instead!
