The Greek Island of Hydra (pronounced ee-drah) is a delightful change from the hustle and bustle of Athens. An easy ferry ride from the enormous Port of Piraeus, one cannot help but slow down to the natural speed of life.

Sharing the crossing with some colorful and sleepy characters…

Feral cats are everywhere, and all seem to be very well fed and cared for. These spoiled felines are so well cared for, in fact, that the pigeons are not even afraid of them!

A sleepy place where dandelions are salad, not weeds, where cars and trucks are nowhere to be found, where donkeys do the heavy lifting.… including collecting the garbage. Let’s go!
