The resort island of Capri is an historic four square mile gem just a few miles off the coast of Italy in the Gulf of Naples. An escape for the well-to-do since ancient Roman times, she makes for a fun and relaxing day trip or overnight from Sorrento.

I decided to explore Capri as a half-day jaunt, taking the forty-minute ferry ride from Sorrento to Marina Grande, the bus to Anacapri, and the cable car to Mount Solaro. Enjoy the sweeping views from the summit, take a leisurely stroll downhill back to town, then meander the cozy and colorful alleyways before taking the bus back to Marina Grande for your return ferry to Sorrento. Let’s go!
