  1. This is a crucial history about the needless suffering and death in Ireland, and powerfully presented, Frank. As I looked at the photos and evidence of the politics and attitudes of the times, I couldn’t help seeing how the same attitudes and policies have continued to guide the assumptions and institutions in the US (also based on the English systems for creating and dealing with poverty).
